MAHA was ostensibly established to reform public health policy in the US by promoting "scientific integrity" in government health guidance; investigating the effects of ultra-processed foods, prescription medications, pesticides, and childhood vaccines; and "reclaiming truthful public health narratives." However, in May 2025, the commission published the "Make Our Children Healthy Again" report, which was widely criticized for being riddled with fake, possibly AI-generated citations, and including studies that didn't exist.
