What Does MAHA Mean?
Definition of MAHA
MAHA means Make America Healthy Again. It is a political movement and health-policy agenda associated with the Trump administration. It is focused on chronic disease, nutrition, food policy and preventive health.
Make America Healthy Again

MAHA is an acronym for Make America Healthy Again — a play on Donald Trump's campaign slogan "Make America Great Again" (MAGA). The MAHA Commission was formed during the period following Donald Trump's second election win, though it gained renewed attention in May 2025, after Trump signed a number of health-related executive orders.
Not All "Quackery"

The MAHA commission is led by US Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a man known for his controversial stances on vaccines and public health, and widely regarded as a proponent of "quackery." MAHA was ostensibly established to reform public health policy in the US by promoting "scientific integrity" in government health guidance; investigating the effects of ultra-processed foods, prescription medications, pesticides, and childhood vaccines; and "reclaiming truthful public health narratives." However, in May 2025, the commission published the "Make Our Children Healthy Again" report, which was widely criticized for being riddled with fake, possibly AI-generated citations, and including studies that didn't exist.
How is MAHA Pronounced and Used?

MAHA is typically pronounced as "MAH-hah" (/ˈmɑː.hɑː/), with emphasis on the first syllable. However, it's sometimes just spelled out as "M-A-H-A," especially in formal contexts. It is commonly seen in the mainstream media and in online chat. For example:
- "MAHA loyalists are revolting against Trump's executive order to increase manufacturing of glyphosate."
- "MAHA should focus on removing ultra-processed food from American diets and increasing physical activity, rather than on children's vaccines."
